The Myth of the Miracle

There is something that I hear and read about a lot involving SEN children, particularly Autistic children, and every time I time I do, I get a bitter-sweet feeling.

What I’m talking about are ‘Miracle Stories.’

Now hear me out and let me explain why…

The reason I get this bitter-sweet feeling is because the harsh truth is, although these stories are undoubtedly some of the most heart-warming beautiful things you could ever read, they are not ALL that common.

Real success, with anything in life comes from consistency and little thing called trial and error.

And guess what, Autistic children are no different.

Using one method with an ASD child and expecting overnight results is quite honestly one of the worst things you could do as a parent. Not just for your child but for you!

In my opinion you’re pretty much setting yourself up for disappointment.

Overnight results can and do happen…

But just because they don’t happen for your child, doesn’t necessarily mean you’re doing anything wrong…

You have to accept that these things take time, hard work and patience…

And you may have to try dozens of strategies and techniques over and over before you find the one that works….

Speak with you soon, until then

Live every moment, Love beyond words and make a difference today!
