Positive movements for autism

Something I’ve noticed recently is more and more positive articles popping up about education and autism.

There is an increase of specialist schools and units opening, more fund raising happening and accessible training programmes for staff who work with children on the spectrum.

But I understand that it can be hard at times to see these positives if you’ve had a negative experience with your own child’s education…

But today I wanted to talk a bit about this and share some positives with you as I think it’s important we embrace and share these changes in society. Not only to celebrate these movements but to raise awareness to others and encourage more of it!

It’s articles like the one I’m about to share with you that give us hope that our children with autism can not only thrive in childhood but adulthood also.

Below is an article about the “Succeeding at College Project” which talks about how, with the right support, the needs of ASD children CAN be met in further education leading them on to a successful adult life…
